At Pathstone, our goal is to strengthen the quality of life for children, youth and families across Niagara who are dealing with mental health challenges.
Pathstone Mental Health
How We Can Help
With project development beginning this September, our Natural Playground and Healing Garden will be a supportive and engaging place for children to play, learn, create, share and discover all that nature has to offer. Learn how you can be a permanent part of a child’s path to recovery.
We are thrilled to share with you the news that Pathstone has secured a $50K grant from Desjardins. This was the LARGEST grant they were awarding across Canada.
This gift has been designated to the creation of Pathstone’s Natural Playground & Healing Garden.
Construction is set to begin in late September 2018 at the Branscombe Mental Health Centre.
Please feel free to share and spread the word.
This safe, outdoor space will be an extension of the support and care we give children within the walls of the Branscombe Mental Health Centre. Children will be able to spend time in our sideways tree, spotting butterfies, tucking inside a log tunnel and foraging in the garden. Our clinicians can also utilize this space for outdoor group therapy. Our greenspace will also be a supportive place for children to deconstruct their session with their parents/caregivers as they work towards recovery.
May 7-13, 2018 is Children's Mental Health Awareness Week!
This week is about increasing awareness of the signs of child and youth mental health problems, decreasing stigma, understanding that help is available and "Treatment Works". Keep an eye out for landmarks across the Niagara Region that will shine green to raise awareness of this week (Niagara Falls, Peace Bridge, Skylon Tower, Welland Bridge, Pelham arches)
Why green? Today we use green to signify new life, new growth and new beginnings.
