May 1-7, 2017 is Children's Mental Health Awareness Week!
This week is about increasing awareness of the signs of child and youth mental health problems, decreasing stigma, understanding that help is available and "Treatment Works".
Keep an eye out for landmarks across the Niagara Region that will shine green to raise awareness of this week (Niagara Falls, Peace Bridge, Skylon Tower, Welland Bridge, Pelham arches)
Why green? Today we use green to signify new life, new growth and new beginnings.
Wear green coloured clothing or a green ribbon to help raise public awareness and show support to children, youth and families dealing with mental health issues.
