Pathstone Foundation is pleased to announce this year’s Hope Award Gala Signature guest speaker is Steven Page.
As one of Canada’s most recognized artists, Page enjoyed two decades of success as the co-founder and lead singer of Barenaked Ladies with whom he will be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in March, 2018. As a solo artist, Page has continued his musical evolution; writing six Stratford Festival scores, touring with Art of Time Ensemble and TransCanada Highwaymen all while continuing to release and perform original music under his own name across North America and beyond.
In 2011, while serving as a guest host on CBC’s “The Current,” Page acknowledged his own struggles with depression. Response to his intelligent, honest and candid approach to the subject was overwhelmingly positive and since then, Page has been in demand as a speaker on the topic.
He’s addressed countless audiences of all ages, including college and university students, speaking about his experiences, mental health awareness and fighting the stigma. “When we educate everyone about the truths and myths of mental health, we can open up the dialogue and get down to business of promoting good mental health.”
A witty, articulate and refreshingly forthright speaker, Page is utterly at home onstage. Expect his keynote speech to be filled with personal stories and observations, intertwined with performances of some of his original music.
This truly unique night is not to be missed. Trust, this year’s the Hope Award Gala in support of Pathstone Foundation will be a sold out event.
