Psycho-Educational Assessments

Here are some common Q & A to inquiries about our fee for service assessments.

What does psycho-educational assessment include?

A Psycho-Educational assessment may include any combination of interviews, questionnaires, and observations that are compiled into a written report. The testing materials that are used depend on the age and the need of your child. However, typical battery would include Wechsler Intelligence Scale, Wechsler achievement test, additional memory testing, adaptive functioning, and social emotional scales including Achenbach and often Brief, which measures executive functioning.  However, all measures may not be relevant; the assessment really depends on the nature of the child’s problems.

How long does it take?

The assessment is designed with your child’s needs in mind so only the assessor can determine the time it takes to complete the assessment. At the end, you will receive a written copy that you can then take it to school for any accommodations that may be needed.

Is there a waitlist?

We are averaging a waitlist for about 2-3 months.

How much does it cost?

These assessments are not part of our Ministry funded services, so there is a fee for service. We offer this assessment at the rate of $2,000. Out of the fee, $1400 is eligible for coverage by the insurance and $600 is administrative cost and not covered.

Is the Assessment covered by my insurance?

Psycho-educational assessments are covered by most insurance carriers. Your receipt will have the license number of the clinical psychologist for your insurance company that you can submit for any reimbursement you may be entitled.
